Intercom

The intercom allows occupants who are wearing headsets to talk to each other at a normal voice level (not need to speak loudly over the engine noise).  Aviation headsets reduce most outside noise so the overall effect is a reasonable level.  While anyone can speak at any time, the intercom is connected to the radios so that the same system can be used to listen and talk to ATC.  When the pilot or co-pilot presses the "push to talk" button to transmit on the radio, the other microphones are all temporarily disabled so that cockpit conversation will not accidentally sent over the air.

There are jacks available for all four seats although rear-seat occupants can not transmit on the radio.
